October 13, 2017 was our kick-off Evening of Arts and Culture, celebrating the national Month of Arts and Culture. The Los Alamos Arts Council and the County of Los Alamos, as well as numerous arts groups from around the area, organized a three-hour tour of the Arts District. From 6:00pm to 9:00pm, performers, artists, poets, and others presented short programs in 9 venues, concurrently, within the Arts District.
Patrons picked up a program card (a guide to who is doing what, where and when) from our information booth at Fuller Lodge, or at any of the nine venues, then they traveled to each venue enjoying the arts diversity of Los Alamos. It was a great way to celebrate local arts creativity and cultural diversity. There was NO admission fee to experience the Evening of Arts and Culture, thanks to the generous support of all participating groups and our sponsors.
Estimates are that more than 1000 people participated in this extraordinary event. 520 unique visitors to Fuller Lodge’s Pajarito Room (the main performance space) were counted. Bravo, Los Alamos!!! 🙂
