Scarecrow Contest

2018 Scarecrow Contest:

The 2018 Scarecrow Contest application is available!  You can print a copy here: scarecrow2018, pick one up at the Arts Council Office, or at the MainStreet and Creative District Office (Visitor’s Center).  Scarecrows will go up on Saturday, October 20th and must come down by 5 pm Thursday, November 1st.  Payment will be made to LOS ALAMOS ARTS COUNCIL only, and we will only take payment on October 20th when you come to put up your Scarecrow.  Call the Arts Council at 505-663-0477 or email us at if you have any questions.   We will see you soon!

Scarecrow Contest Background:

In collaboration with the Mainstreet and Creative District Office, Los Alamos Arts Council brings a bit of autumn fun to downtown Los Alamos every year by organizing the annual Scarecrow Contest.  Since 2001, scarecrows made by local businesses, clubs, organizations, schools, families, and individuals have graced the walkway lamps along Central Avenue during the week before Halloween, and up to Nov. 1.
