The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) oversees Fuller Lodge Art Center (FLAC) and the Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library as of July 1, 2020.
Originally founded in 1967, the Los Alamos Arts Council was tasked with supporting the arts in Los Alamos. In 1977, the Fuller Lodge Art Center was formed by a group of visual artists.
Los Alamos Arts Council and Fuller Lodge Art Center, both centers for creativity, began unofficially working together and supporting each other around 2010, and it became apparent that rejoining forces for the new millennium was a logical efficient move. The Arts Council continues to provide performing arts activities and events, and also manages the Art Center and the Step Up Gallery.

We are open!
We are so pleased to once again provide in-person services to the community! We are hosting many summer events, following Los Alamos County guidelines regarding numbers allowed and distancing. Our priority is the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, visitors, and program participants.
Our Gallery Shop and Gallery are open, and we are working there to meet with visitors and patrons. If you call us at 505-662-1635, we are able to check those messages, but need 48 hours to return the call. You may also email us at email@example.com. Again, please allow 48 hours for a response.
We need YOU to volunteer with us! It takes a VILLAGE to spread our love of the arts! We’re looking for volunteers for our many events and to help steer us in the right direction! Nominations for the board will occur in mid June and we’d LOVE your help! Currently we have 2 short term positions available, and we’d particularly LOVE to work with someone with a head for numbers!

Los Alamos Arts Council, a non-profit organization, exists to promote lifelong engagement in the arts through education and community partnerships. The LAAC serves as a catalyst for economic, social, and cultural growth, and its programming brings together diverse segments of the community.
The LAAC Executive Director position is envisioned as a full time fluctuating schedule position with a salary range of $30,000-$35,000 annually. The Executive Director reports directly to the LAAC Board, oversees a small staff of part time to full time positions, and is ultimately responsible for the smooth functioning of all programs, events, and functions of the organization. Anticipated start date would be 2 weeks after final interview.
